Urban Studies in September

Geplaatst in NewsFlash, Urban Studies.

New students

The effects of the Corona crisis do not prevent a rise in the number of applicants for a new year of Urban Studies. We will organize several activities to make them feel welcome. Have you got ideas or an initiative to help out? Please contact the Coordinators of Study!

Studying Urban Studies from Sept 2020

At the moment, it is not certain yet how the new schoolyear 2020-2021 will start. Hester Bijl, the vice-rector sent all of you an announcement about it. You can read it back here.

For Urban Studies, most likely, lectures will be given online, to avoid too many students being too close to each other in the big lecture halls. Seminars will as much as circumstances allow, be given in The Hague seminar locations for those in the Netherlands and online for those who, due to restrictive measures in their country, cannot travel. This way we can all be safe, as well as provide personal attention, working together in small groups and networking between students and teachers.

How it all will unfold exactly, depends on many factors and Urban Studies is dependent on policies at national level and university level in order to be able to provide full information on the fall semester.

Introduction- and Welcome Back-day

We’re planning an introduction day for first year students, and a Welcome Back afternoon for 2nd and 3rd year students. The event will take place in the first week of September and possibly on campus and The Hague City Area. We will plan the programme with several fall back options, so when conditions turn out to be different than expected, we can be flexible.
